Once located near the base of the Matterhorn in Fantasyland at Disneyland
Ariel's Grotto was a place for guests to meet Ariel, the star of Disney's animated feature The Little Mermaid. A shell that spun on a concrete slab allowed the actress playing Ariel to move off stage without having to walk (a problem for a mermaid).
Music at Ariel's Grotto featured songs from Alen Menken's score for The Little Mermaid. Ariel's Grotto was closed in 2009 to make room for the new Pixie Hollow.
